Financial Administrator


Sask Pork is a non-profit organization representing Saskatchewan’s hog producers.  Our mission is to provide leadership and collaborate with stakeholders to foster a positive business environment and stimulate long-term growth and investment in Saskatchewan’s pork industry. 

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to support our organization.  This role is critical in ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations, and Bookkeeping.  This is a full-time office-based position, located in Saskatoon.  

This position is primarily responsible for leading all aspects of Sask Pork’s financial record-keeping processes.  This includes processing invoices, payables, receivables, deposits, and expense claims; financial data input through QuickBooks; administering Sask Pork’s payroll & benefits package; processing payroll remittances, production of monthly and year-end financial statements and forecasts, and assisting with organizing meetings and events.  

You will also assist the General Manager and staff in preparing the annual budget.   Other duties will include maintaining and organizing office records & contracts, ordering office supplies, and providing administrative support to the General Manager as required.   

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate or diploma in accounting, business administration, or a related program from a recognized institution.

  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a related position;

  • Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting;

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

The WCVM SMART program is accepting applications for the Foreign-Trained Veterinarian Swine Medicine Residency Certification program.

This three-year residency combines clinical practice training with Saskatchewan swine veterinarian(s) with project-based Master of Science degree delivered through distance education by the University of Saskatchewan The program aims to provide the requisite practical skills and knowledge required for American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) Swine Health Management (SHM) credentialling within 3 years, and certification within 1-2 years of completion of the residency.

Application to the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medicine Association (SVMA) for a limited-scope license to practice swine medicine in Saskatchewan would follow for successful residents.

Applicants must have a DVM (or equivalent) degree from a non-Canadian university, be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, be eligible for educational licensure by the SVMA, fluency in written and verbal English, and 5 years of documentable experience in swine practice or industry (2 years in Canada or USA).
