Sask Pork is proud to be a sponsor of Rhythm ‘n Ribs in support of the Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan! The event kicks off on Friday, June 24 at 5:00pm and runs to 11:00pm, Saturday 11:30am to 11:00pm and Sunday 11:30am to 8:00pm. The event will play host to five Championship BBQ vendor teams that attend Ribfests all over Canada and the USA. In addition to the BBQ vendors, attendees will have the chance to take in have 24 hours of live music with a variety of bands, other food vendors, a beer garden and children’s activities. Be sure to watch for the Sask Pork booth with kids activities and recipe cards.
The Amateur BBQ competition also returns Saturday, June 25. This competition is open to local amateur BBQ cooks and teams. The deadline for entries is June 17, 2022.Entry fee is $50. Competitors must use pork ribs. Each team shall supply their own ribs. Guaranteed prizes, in addition to bragging rights, are:
*$350 for first place
*$250 for second
*$150 for third
Also back is the Chef’s Choice competition, which is optional. There is no additional entry fee for this category. The guaranteed prizes for Chef’s Choice is $150 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place. Judging for both competitions will be based on appearance, texture and taste.
