Ham Quiche
No matter what meal you are planning this simple and delicious ham and cheese quiche will fit into your menu!

Ingredient
1 Tbsp (15 mL) butter
1 medium onion, diced
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup (250 mL) half and half
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1/4 tsp (1 mL) freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) cooked ham, diced
1 cup (250 mL) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup (250 mL) shredded cheddar cheese
1 store bought deep dish pie crust
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft, about 1-2 minutes.
In a large bowl, whisk together egg, half and half, salt and pepper.
Sprinkle ham, 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) of cheese and onion into pie crust and pour egg mixture over top. Top with the remaining cheese.
Set on a baking sheet and place in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the centre is completely set.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Note: If you would like a crispier bottom, prick bottom with a fork and bake pie crust for 10 minutes or until very light golden brown before adding eggs.
